Modern Machine Quilting: Straight Lines, Spirals, and More On Demand Webinar
We all love shopping for fabric, cutting it up and stitching our blocks together but then what to do next?
Many of us have quilt tops stacked up, waiting to be finished into quilts. It’s the quilting that holds us back. In this webinar experienced quilter and teacher Catherine Redford will guide you through basting your tops with a backing and batting, choosing your thread and needle and then using your domestic machine to add the quilting stitches.
In this web seminar, you will learn how to:
- Get started!
- Prepare your quilt top and press
- Add function and an extra layer of design to your quilt
- Whether you should stitch in the ditch or shadow quilt
- Turn sharp corners and make spirals
- Handle a large quilt without worrying
Catherine has been teaching machine quilting for more than ten years and loves it when her students leave the classroom inspired to get back to their machines ready to stitch.
She starts to plan her quilting lines before she cuts her first piece of fabric and looks forward to bringing her quilt tops to life with the addition of the quilting. Careful preparation and using the walking foot makes for a less stress finish on all your projects.
